Non riesco ad installare as6edriver-0.5

Ciao a tutti, uso linux da diveris anni, ma come smanettone sono un "niubbo". Ho provato diverse volte ad installare il driver per la porta parallela necessario per usare il mio vecchio scanner trust easy scan 9600 plus, ma quando faccio "./configure", ottengo puntualmente:

da yast make mi risulta installato.
ho letto altri post, ed alcune guide, ma non trovo niente di esplicito su 
"checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... (cached) no"
ah, se faccio "whereis alocal-1.4"
ottengo: "aclocal-1: /usr/bin/aclocal-1.11 /usr/bin/X11/aclocal-1.11 /usr/share/aclocal-1.11"

purtroppo, non mi rimane che chiedere aiuto

Dopo il "./configure" devi dare "make" poi su e poi "make install"

mi sono intestardito sui messaggi all'inizio e non avevo letto in fondo che era compilabile!!!

Grazie!!!!

Per completezza, sto usando OpenSuse 11.3 su computer fisso e OpenSuse 10.1 sul mio vecchio portatile.
