Dopo aver provato il live dvd che mi ha dato un mio amico mi sono deciso a comprare suse 9.3 pro ed instalarlo nel mio pc,stanco di xp e dopo aver verificato che tutti i componenti fossero compatibili.Ma mi sbagliavo...Ora dopo averlo installato mi accorgo che ne il modem ne lo scanner funzionano.Per la precisione un alcatel speedtouch 330 e uno scanner trust webscan gld (uguale al mustek).Guardando in giro non sono riuscito a trovare un sistema per installarli,le guide sul web sono quasi tutte diverse tra loro.Che faccio torno a windows xp?Mi secca aver speso soldi per niente

Abbiamo fatto un passo avanti....lo scanner va finalmente evviva.Ma che fatica ho dovuto scaricare una decina di firmware e provarli ad uno ad uno.Ma per lo scanner nulla.Eppure mi ricordo che l'anno scorso avevo provato mandrake 9.2 (abbandonato per troppo bug) e il modem ero riuscito a farlo andare senza troppe difficolta.Forse sbaglio qualche cosa,mi mancano dei pacchetti?Non so più cosa fare,le ho provate tutte....Ho provato con speedtouchconf ma dopo avermi rilevato il modem (le luci si spengono,si riaccendono,lampeggia la luce della linea,poi diventa fissa e alla fine mi da modem hang e device not found).Avete qualche idea??Ormai è una questione personale....

Hai il modello "silver"?
In tal caso è necessario caricare un altro firmware:
# I get an error "240 - Modem not found" from modem_run
This generally means that you have a Silver modem; this modem requires the rev4fw.zip or similar zip file, not the alcaudsl.sys, mgmt.o files. These files should not be in the same directory as the script, as they will be used in preference to rev4fw.zip if found.

Il modem è un thomson speedtouch 330 bordò,revisione 2.Ho provato con tutti e tre ii tipi di firmware e anche con alcaudsl.sys preso da winxp...ma niente sempre lo stesso errore...device not found...Quasi quasi lo stacco e lo butto dalla finestra.Posto l'errore:

Nel link che mi hai dati sopra dice che funziona bene su kernel 2.6.8 e su 2.6.10 problemi...può essere forse questo?

Prova a mettere questi valori nel file /etc/speedtouch.conf:
LOAD_USBCORE=0
LOAD_USBINTERFACE=0

E alla fine mi sono preso un bel modem ethernet ed ho risolto i problemi...però ho una domanda,come faccio ad avere un monitor della connessione per sapere la velocità e la quantità dei mega scaricati?
